The Jewelry Project

The Jewelry Project was started in 2005 to help provide much needed funds to the Women's Heart Foundation to help support its wellness, awareness and prevention programs. The Jewelry Project collects unwanted costume jewelry during the months of September, October and November. It is then cleaned and polished by service organizations and made available for resale at different events throughout the year starting February 1, the first day of National Women's Heart Week.

Heart disease kills one woman every minute and takes the lives of six times more women than breast cancer. It is our #1 health threat, killing more women every year than the next seven causes of death combined, including all forms of cancer. Heart disease has killed more women than men every year since 1984, yet it is still mistaken to be a "man’s disease" by both the general public and medical professionals. Milder symptoms and not recognizing the woman's risk factors are often missed opportunities in health care. The Foundation has developed award-winning early intervention programs like TEEN ESTEEM Health and Fitness and WOMEN'S HEART WEEK. This is how we are making a difference and saving lives!

How You Can Help

We need your help to raise awareness and promote healthier lifestyles, especially in middle-aged women, college-aged women and teens! Here's what you can do:

  1. Join the Women's Heart Foundation (WHF) mailing list to be kept up-to-date on WHF programming in your area and the latest in heart health news for women.

  2. Donate jewelry you no longer want - has your style changed? Do you have a pile of jewelry that you no longer wear? Let us help you rid your jewelry box of all that clutter! To donate you can:

       a. Mail jewelry to: Bonnie Arkus, Women's Heart Foundation, P.O. Box 7827, West Trenton, NJ 08628

       b. Bring your jewelry to any of the collection locations

  3. Attend the sales events

  4. Join our mailing list to be kept up-to-date on drop-off locations (many more locations are in the works) and event information.
